Odour
The odour and uses of Rose de Mai Absolute
Odour=> Rose de Mai Absolute is rose with a spicy, balsamic, and prominent mossy character. As an absolute, it is the heaviest and richest of all the roses. Rose de Mai is complex containing top, middle, and base notes of its own. The opening is balsamic and very oily; in its undiluted form it leaves a thick russet colour on the smelling strip. As it settles, it takes on a sweeter, narcotic character and loses some of its mossy nature. In the final stages of the dry down, the top and mid notes are still apparent but the spicy, clove/eugenol aspect becomes more noticeable. When added to a formula it can produce a beautiful if faint lychee quality; Other key descriptors: balsamic, rose, petals, faint honey, spicy, clove, yeast, moss, faint phenol
Synaesthesia=> A table has been laid with rich loaf; spices and halfmoon slivers of nuts hang on its dark crust. Family is here and your heart is warm. Big sister has come home from the perfumery. As she opens the door, the air is suddenly awake with beauty. She hands an empty basket to the maid, the source of this gift which has made the family holiday alight with fragrant dreams. Family, heart, love

End application data applies to experiments carried out by the authors or extrapolated from those experiments using computer algorithms. As application product formulations vary widely this information is only a general guide.
Full testing by both perfumers- flavorists and end users is the only proven method to ensuring a perfume or flavours safety- strength- suitability- stability and success.
