Odour=> Neat Phenyl Acetaldehyde has a intense and powerful green floral odour reminscent of Hyacinth, Syringa and Lilac.

Perfume-Uses=> Phenyl Acetaldehyde is useful to help capture the calyx and leafy notes in all floral types especially Hyacinth, Syringa, Lilac, Carnation (in traces) and Rose
Tips=> Phenyl Acetaldehyde is a very powerful and can be quite irritant, so it should be used sparingly in perfumes to avoid overpowering the other ingredients and not becoming irritating. IFRA used to require it to be mixed 50% with PEA (Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol) to quench its irritantcy (this technique is no longer IFRA accepted despite it working).
