Shipping Notes: Shipping & Packing charges with guaranteed delivery are calculated as follows:

  • Important: As we supply these materials for educational purposes to students of perfumery they are rarely held up in Europe, US or Japan by customs. As customs clearance can depend on an individual officer's discretion it is the student's responsibility to clear them if it does happen.
  • Note: as with all international shipments, noteably to African, Indian and South American countries materials are often inspected at customs and may require an unofficial "clearing" payment.
  • As with any company shipping internationally we have no control over another countries customs or taxing policies. But if this does happen we invite you to share your experience with details so that we can work to improve our service for you.
  • DHL, FedEX and ThaiPost have suspended transportation services from and to Ukraine, Belarus and Russia. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have alternative addresses you would like goods shipped to please contact us.
  • Extended again by popular demand to 14th January 2025, PerfumersWorld is offering FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE for orders over $100* via the website.
Only shipments by the courier we select are included (usually FedEx, DHL)
** If you specify the Courier or Custom Shipping method in the Notes we will confirm if there is any extra cost.
    * For some remote areas or due to political instability the qualifying order amount maybe a little higher.
Just complete the order and during selection of your country on checkout it will show the shipping deducted from the total.
  • Basic shipping charge by registered air parcel: $20.00. Delivery 14-28 days.
  • Plus $0.90 bottling/packing charge per item.
  • Optional courier or special requirements can be quoted on request. Please write details in the remarks and we will advise if there would be extra charges.
  • Packing: 12 grams or less come in Amber dropper bottles, packed in sealed plastic sleeves. Larger sizes come in aluminium containers, HDPE or steel drums. Please note that the rubber teats on our dropper bottles are designed for active use and on long term storage will decay. Try to keep in a cool room below 20°C. If kept above 25°C the decay may be very rapid especially with citrus, aldehydes, terpenes and woody oils. Tips: Replace the inner caps supplied while not in use. Visually check the rubber teats each month and swap out if there are any signs of harding, softing or swelling.
  • Times based on typical worldwide shipping times from order payment confirmation to delivery.
  • We include an invoice and a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) in the package for shipping and clearing purposes in the unlikely event that they are required. The invoice with the shipment may be based on the insurance value of the materials without the service or educational components included.
  • We never aim to make money from the shipping charges and subsidise the shipping charges on over 90% of shipments.
  • Please contact us if you have any questions or requests.

Storage and General Tips:

Please note that the rubber teats on our dropper bottles are designed for active use and on long term storage will decay. Keep in a cool room below 20°C. If kept above 25°C the decay may be very rapid especially with citrus, aldehyde, terpene and woody oils.
Tips:
Visually check the rubber teats each month and swap out if there any signs of discoloration, hardening, softening or swelling.
Ideally replace the inner caps supplied while not in use. If storing away between uses, use polypropylene boxes (PP “05” like Tupperware).
Keep only similar smells together in the same box eg. Citrus with Citrus, Spice with Spice etc, to help lessen the effects of contamination.

Units used

Why we use weight for ordering.
PerfumersWorld uses weight, not volume (ml, cc, litres), as volume changes with temperature.
We ship all over the world from Dubai where it can be +50°C to even places like Canada where it can be -40°C, a 90°C difference, so volume changes a lot but the weight remains the same. You can see this dramatically in a cheaper glass thermometer the amount (mass or weight) of dyed alcohol remains the same as long as its sealed, but the volume changes drastically with the temperature.
Another way to think of it is if you buy your materials in mls in the Summer (30°C/84°F)then without using them check them again in Winter (10°C/50°F) they would have shrunk but the weight is the same.
Counting drops is a very quick and easy way to experiment, test and prototype ideas and only uses tiny amounts of material. 1 drop from our glass droppers in the 5 and 12ml bottles is around 0.02 grams meaning that you get around 500 drops from 10 grams. However, when you upscale and make perfume commercially we urge you use only weight to measure your materials.
1ml or 1cc = 1 gram*
10 grams = about 1/3 oz, 10ml*
1 oz. = 28.4 grams
1 lb. = 454 grams
Notes:
*Actually 1 gram of most oils and materials is slightly more than 1ml and that's why they tend to float on water. There are a few exceptions like heavy solvents such as BB, BA, DPG, DEP. The exact calculation is determined by the density/specific gravity. (Specific Gravity = Weight / Volume at a specific temperature)
*We also need to use weight for inventory control, accounting, auditing and legal purposes.
*If you are thinking that perfume bottles are usually measured in ml and you want to calculate how many bottles 1 Kg of your perfume (eg. 800g alcohol + 200g perfume compound) will make. Then using weight only for everything - it will make about 10% more in volume (so 1,100 ml or 11 100ml bottles) after maturation, chilling & filtering. To get a more accurate calculation make enough of your perfume to fill a few bottles and weigh how much to fill them (at 23°C - 73°F) with a bubble bridging the shoulder just below the bottles neck.
